huns Rangers Diehards In FlorenceIn the latest chapter of the incredible Rangers European tour, Scotland’s biggest club finds itself and its supporters in Florence, by common acclaim one of Europe’s most beautiful and cultured cities.

As I write, the Carabineri have reported no serious incidents of misbehaviour amongst the estimated twenty-five thousand supporters who have made their way to Italy.

The only reports of strain or stress is from the city’s numerous art galleries, museums and fashion houses, which are struggling to cope with the incredible demand from Scotland’s culture vultures. Botticelli, Dante, Michelangelo, you name them the chances are that the boys in blue and have done their homework regarding this cradle of European civilization.

Signore Giovanni Guyo president of the local tourist board was astonished at the impact the blue tide has had on local businesses.

” It is truly wonderful to meet ordinary football supporters who know so much about our culture. They are wonderful ambassadors for England, I salute them with two fingers!”

While the Rangers supporters brought much needed revenue to this third world country, Walter Smith revealed that miraculous intervention had helped cure David Weir of his nagging injury, when he, Weir and Ally McCoist visited a nearby church and touched the holy relics of San Andreo Gorami.

Ally McCoist explains how the incredible happening took place;

” We had just come out the pizzeria and had some decent nosh to be fair. We then noticed a pinepapple that was open by chance. I seen the bones and said to David that if he touched it all his worries would dissapear. Magic, he goes and does it and would you believe it the pain between his legs is gone. Finito! Brill! I speak a bit of Italian and that, so I thanked the priest after kissing his ring, so don’t call us bigots”.

Rings or no rings, tonight is Rangers’ night of destiny. Wouldn’t it be great if we could have three British teams in the two major European finals? Chelsea and Rangers representing England and Liverpool the Celtic fringes.

Like three spitfires emerging from above behind the sunlight, all Europe looks on in envy and asks what is it about that small sceptic island that produces such talent? Following on from the scandalous omission of Rangers as one of Europe’s top twenty richest clubs, here is a real chance to right some wrongs!

One thing is for sure, tonight whatever the result football is the winner. A nation expects and Rangers won’t let England down.
